Form of Governance

Risen Savior Lutheran Church is a member of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).  As such, our congregation has a constitutional (policy based) form of governance that has been approved by the Rocky Mountain District of LCMS.
Risen Savior is organized according to our Constitution, in which a Board of Directors is responsible for Vision, Strategy and Administrative Oversight of the congregation.  Our Senior Pastor is responsible for the overall ministry and ministry goals of the congregation.  Our Elders are responsible for the Spiritual Oversight of the ministry staff and congregation.  Both the Board of Directors and Elders are responsible to the Voters, who hold an annual meeting to approve elected Officers and Elders of the congregation and to pass an annual budget.  The current officers of the congregation are:
  • President:  Ray Purinton
  • Vice President: Bill Duclos
  • Treasurer:  Mark Schlager
  • Secretary: Annette Wagenknecht
Our Head Elder is Mark Olson.
If you would like additional information, please see the Constitution and Bylaws documents that were recently approved by the Rocky Mountain District LCMS, on 10 June 2015.  The Constitution and ByLaws will be fully implemented at the November General Voter Assembly in 2015.”
