Do you have questions about Christianity? Questions like “If God is so good, why does he allow suffering?” “What about those who haven’t heard about Jesus?”, or ”Is Christianity the only way to God?” These and many other questions are frequently discussed in a low-keyed, fun atmosphere of respect and dignity at our Alpha course. No question is too hard for an Alpha discussion.
Alpha Basic is a seven-week course that meets in homes twice a year. Each session includes a meal (or dessert) together, a thought provoking video and an honest discussion in a small group setting. The topics covered during Alpha Basic are:
- Who Is Jesus?
- Why did Jesus die?
- How can I have faith?
- Why and how should I pray?
- Who is the Holy Spirit and what does He do?
- How can I resist evil?
- Why and how should we tell others?
Church membership is not the goal of Alpha. Exploring the Christian faith and discussing your questions and concerns about Christianity are the goal of Alpha. Risen Savior’s Alpha course is open to all people whether you are associated with a Christian church or not, or another religion. We just want you to “come and see”.
If you are looking for a church and want to meet some of the people before going further in this process, Alpha is a good way to take that first step. Alpha is a fun environment if you want to reconnect with the church. If you are considering membership, Alpha is a good opportunity to review the basics of the Christian faith.
