Handbell Choirs

Risen Savior has not one, not two, but three handbell choirs, which provide additional music for many worship services during the church year, from Sunday mornings to Wednesday evening Advent and Lent services, and for other special worship celebrations throughout the year.

The handbell program uses four octaves of Malmark bells.  All handbell choir members work independently to read their own their music while performing together as one group. The ability to read music is helpful, but not required. Any level of musicianship is welcome!

Performances vary from Sunday mornings to Wednesday evenings. All rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings during the school year.

The choirs are divided according to age, as follows:

grace notesChildren's Handbell Choir - Grace Notes (grades 3rd-5th)
Beginning members learn basic music notation and how to ring handbells. Children start with general music instruction.

bells of faithYouth Handbell Choir - Bells of Faith (grades 6th-8th)
Intermediate level choir. Middle school members learn additional music theory and advanced handbell techniques. Past choirs have gone a festival tour in the spring.

Any level of music experience accepted. Members enjoy music and learn how to ring handbells. This choir also learns advanced handbell techniques and music.
