Prayer Chain

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20

What is the Prayer Chain?

The Prayer Chain is a group of Christian men and women who are willing to pray for special needs and concerns of members of Risen Savior Lutheran Church, their families and friends. All prayer is to be done in the name of Jesus and for the extension of the Kingdom of God. The Prayer Chain unites the people of God around the concerns and joys of the church.

What about confidentiality?

When making a prayer request it is not necessary to give the name of the person for whom the prayer is for. If names are included with the prayer request the Prayer Chain members are to respect the privacy of those being prayedfor.

What needs and concerns are prayed for by the Prayer Chain?

Typical prayer requests include difficult situations such as hospitalization of a family member or friend, special health concerns, accidents, loss of job, marital or family problems, or the death of a loved one. Prayers of thanksgiving can also be offered for the birth of a child, protection given to a loved one, and special blessings of any sort.

Items on the Prayer Chain will not automatically be prayed for in the Sunday worship services. Sunday service prayers must be requested in advance through the church office.

How do I place a prayer on the Prayer Chain?

If you are at church, you may turn in a completed request to the drop box at the Information Center or place in the offering plate.

You may also contact the church office with your prayer request.
